Trend Micro updates security suite for small firms

Worry-Free Business Security version 6 launched

Security vendor Trend Micro has updated its Worry-Free Business Security product, which is designed for small businesses with little or no IT support.

Version 6.0 is now powered by the firm's Smart Protection Network, a new system which combines cloud-based and client technology to ensure that users get the latest protection whatever their location.

Specifically, the technology features URL filtering to proactively block inappropriate or malicious sites, and new Smart Scan capabilities that detect and remove threats before they reach the network. This minimises PC slowdown by having most of the detection technologies stored on the local security server, according to Trend Micro.

Also featured are an easy-to-use admin dashboard and USB device threat prevention.

"Worry-Free Business Security is constantly updated, scans faster while minimising the impact to PCs, and requires minimal user interaction," said Steve Quane, general manager of Trend Micro's small to medium sized business unit.

"Trend Micro allows businesses to stop worrying about security so they can focus on their business."
