Empire Builder is aimed at the small businesses market and allows companies to carry out day-to-day operations from entering and printing invoices to chasing customers' debts and producing VAT returns. Suresoft claims users don't have to be computer experts or accountants to operate the system. The system is ready-to-go straight from the box and consists of 32-bit accounts software designed for Windows 95/98 and NT. The service was developed over an 18-month period and further add-ons - including a full euro-compliant version - are expected next year. 'We see ourselves as working more and more towards producing cost-effective e-commerce solutions for the smaller business that fully integrate to their business accounts,' said Suresoft product manager Gareth Connor. Empire Builder will retail for £99 including VAT and this includes a user manual and one month of telephone support. Connor said he was confident of taking custom away from software giants including Sage and Pegasus. 'There are over 200,000 start-up companies a year and we have come up with a foolproof package that does not require any upgrades,' added Connor.
