Workshop: Edit and share photos with Picnik

Before spending money on a photo-editing program, first try a free online service like Picnik

Rob Beattie, Computeract!ve, 26 Jun 2008

Photo editing remains one of the most popular pastimes for home PC owners.

The popularity of digital cameras also suggests there’s little we enjoy more than a good session of cropping, rotating and removing red eye.

Yet it’s also hard to believe most of us really require much more than a passing acquaintance with the more complicated features of our image-editing software.

If you only need to make simple changes, why not use an editing tool that’s free and available on any internet-enabled computer?

Meet Picnik, a free online photo editor that’s more than capable of handling most tasks, has some nice creative tools and integrates well with other services, such as photo-sharing website Flickr, and social networking sites Facebook and Myspace.
